Private Legal Sector Collaborates with Trump White House to Advance Shared Priorities
In a remarkable show of support for President Donald Trump's second-term agenda, several top law firms have committed more than $500 million in pro bono legal services to causes aligned with the administration. Announced on April 11, this effort marks a significant collaboration between the private legal sector and the federal government.
Among the firms participating are Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Allen Overy Shearman Sterling US LLP, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, and Latham & Watkins LLP—each pledging $125 million in services. In addition, Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP will contribute at least $100 million.
“These are the best and brightest legal minds in the country. Their partnership is a major win for fairness, due process, and common sense,” said a senior White House official.
This alliance is expected to support litigation, regulatory matters, and constitutional advocacy that align with conservative priorities, such as defending religious freedom, limiting executive overreach at the state level, and protecting American businesses from regulatory excess.
